Hello and welcome to fall!
Thanks so much to those of you that were able to make it to my Tarot Social Hour event last week! We had a great time getting to know each other, talking about all things witchy and spiritual, sharing our love of tarot cards and looking through each other's decks. I have another event coming up on October 18th where we will be watching The Craft movie and crafting our own tarot cards! Click the button or scroll down to get full details on the event.
Fall has officially begun now and I feel it. I'm starting to think about the rest of the year and September feels like it's whizzing by already. I was up in the woods this weekend at a gorgeous fall wedding and it was really getting me into the spirit of the season. I'm excited to break out my Halloween and spooky decor and embrace the changing seasons. I'm still enjoying these sunny afternoons we keep getting and I am going kayaking tonight with a friend in hopefully nice weather!
I know that the changing seasons are an opportunity for me to to reflect, evaluate, and make changes. The cyclical nature of the seasons allows me to more easily accept the sun going down earlier and waking up later as we head into the darkest time of the year. As a witch this is the time of year when I think about death and decay, my ancestors, the leaves falling, cool and crisp weather, and the rains as they start to become more prevalent. Below you can see my very fall colored backyard bouquet I picked yesterday.
September here in the PNW is usually both rainy and sunny, the mornings are cool enough for a sweater and the afternoons are usually warm enough that I have to change into a tank top or shorts if I'm outside. I'm finally willing to run the oven again and that changes what foods I eat. It can feel strange to have your tomatoes finally ripening in September when it feels like the rest of the country is already tired of them, their plants long diseased and forgotten. My garden is so lush right now and I love making this tomato garlic soup with my summer harvest of tomatoes and garlic.
If you're a summer lover I hope that the sun and warmth are holding out for you. If you're a lover of fall I hope the crisp weather is calming and you're excited as the leaves start to change color. If you're a witch I hope you're excited to enter into the spooky season. But no matter who you are and what you love, the seasons will change and your favorite one will be back again next year. I encourage you to make peace with the fact that things change because when we hold on tightly to past, it colors how we view our present and future.
If you wanted to attend my Let's Talk Tarot night but were unable to last time, check out details below for my next event!
